1.   The New Bedford Preservation Society has opportunities for those interested in becoming volunteer tour guides. Volunteers in this category are utilized at various society events; such as the December 4 and 5, 2010 holiday house tours; spring house and garden tour; occasional October historical cemetery tours; and summer neighborhood walking tours.

>House Tour guide volunteers will receive "house-specific" training immediately prior to the house tour events. Cemetery tour guides will also receive training prior to the event.

>Apprentice training with an experienced Preservation Society tour guide will be given for tour guides interested in leading neighborhood walking tours.

2.   Office volunteers assist with historical research, grant preparation, bulk-mailing projects, data entry, photocopying, filing, and fund raising activities.

>Experience with the use of office machines, computers, data entry, graphics, telephone skills and public relations are valuable in this volunteer category.
